Painting the quiet life of plants

Color, texture, light, flowers and leaves are recurring themes in Vanessa’s work, which she brings to life through a gestural, painterly hand. Her florals and botanical patterns are meant to feel like a breath of fresh air—inviting the everyday to become something imaginative and unmistakably her own.

How the work begins

Each piece usually starts from observation: a stem on the windowsill, a walk through the garden, or a handful of reference sketches from travels. She works in layers—loose washes first, then structure—so the final image keeps a sense of movement and air.

Limited edition prints are produced from high-resolution scans of the originals, checked for color fidelity on archival cotton paper. Original paintings remain one-of-a-kind, signed and ready to frame.

Materials

Archival papers, lightfast pigments, and careful finishing so work ages gracefully on the wall.

Process

Exploration over perfection—marks are left visible so the hand of the artist stays in the room.

Commissions

Custom botanical studies and palette-led pieces can be discussed for residential and commercial spaces.
