About me
I’m a Watercolor Artist and Surface Pattern Designer based in Melbourne, Australia.
My creative inspiration is deeply shaped by a lifelong career in floristry and spending a lot of time in nature as a child.
I am drawn to the intricate beauty and quiet mystery of the natural world, as well as forgotten objects and the art of observation. My creative world is rooted in nature and nostalgia. I love finding magic in the details—whether it’s the curve of a beetle’s shell, the veins of a leaf or the weathered patina of a vintage label, these curiosities fuel my imagination and inspire that sense in my designs.
My process
My creative process often begins like that of a collector or natural historian—from studying and sketching specimens from the garden, poring over old-world treasured naturalist illustrations and reference books together with ephemera from vintage markets, my instinct is to fossick and collect and I feel this naturally influences my pattern designs.
My designs begin with a hand-drawn sketch, followed by gentle layered watercolour brushstrokes. My aim is to blend painted elements with digital techniques to create patterns that are both timeless and contemporary.
I hope the viewer can get a glimpse as to what I see when I pause, wonder and connect with nature, history and with the stories found in small and ordinary things.
